You could just do:

if ((!IS_ALIGNED(start, SZ_64K)) || (length % SZ_64K))

[SAMI] In my opinion, the following may be better:
	if (!IS_ALIGNED(start, SZ_64K) || !IS_ALIGNED(length, SZ_64K))
