[PATCH v2] cmpc_acpi: add support for Classmate PC ACPI devices

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

This add supports for devices like keyboard, backlight, tablet and
accelerometer.

This work is supported by International Syst S/A.

The changes from the previous version are:

classmate-laptop: rename from cmpc_acpi
As suggested by Alan Jenkins, rename cmpc_acpi to classmate-laptop.

classmate-laptop: do not call input_free_device after input_unregister_device
As pointed out by Alan Jenkins, input_free_device should not be called
after input_unregister_device, since the later already calls put_device.

classmate-laptop: set owner field to all acpi drivers as THIS_MODULE
As pointed out by Alan Jenkins, the acpi drivers should have the owner
field set, so we can track the module usage.

classmate-laptop: use strict_strtoul instead of sscanf in attr store
As pointed out by Andrew Morton, use strict_strtoul to parse the value
written to the sense sysfs attribute.

classmate-laptop: use notify methods for acpi drivers
As suggested by Bjorn Helgaas, use notify methods in acpi_driver structs
instead of installing and removing them in add/remove methods.

classmate-laptop: rewrite init/exit functions to always register all drivers
As suggested by Alan Jenkins, the module init function should only exit
successfully if all drivers are successfully registered, since they do
not fail if the device does not exist.

classmate-laptop: initialize switch state when adding input device or resuming
As pointed out by Alan Jenkins, the switch input device state (on or
off) must be initialized as we register it as well as right after a
resume.

classmate-laptop: rename sense attribute to sensitivity and add show method
Create a struct cmpc_accel to store the sensitivity attribute since we
can't read it from the device itself. That way, we can read the last
value stored there.
Set a default value too based on experiments with a device.
Again, thanks to Alan Jenkins for the suggestion.
