See: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8246 Problem Description: Since kernel 2.6.20 the acpi modules take an unacceptable time to load. It is the R40e which cannot do C-state switching. Both were verified to work with using 32 bit values and both are broken with 64 bit addresses.
