Toshiba Satellite M70 battery status not updating properly.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I have a Toshiba Satellite M70 notebook here. The battery status isn't
being updated properly. When it boots up /proc/acpi/battery contains
data about the charge of the battery but the data doesn't change when
the battery discharges or charges so you have no clue how much power
you've got. I'm running kernel 2.6.17.10 from kernel.org. Any clue how
I can fix this? Google and reading bits of acpi docs seems to point to a
broken dsdt. I can confirm that the dsdt is buggy because I get a couple
errors and a warning when I try to recompile the disassembled dsdt. I
don't speak ACPI machine language so I'm not exactly sure how to fix the
dsdt. I suppose I could learn it but it may not be my problem. I'll attach
the output from lspci, dmidecode and dmesg so you can see the hardware
configuration. I am really not sure what I should do about this so any
clue would be helpful. If you need more info just ask and I'l see what
I can do. Thanks a lot!
