I tried connecting to an ISP that has (had) dialup service. The following is the output of vwdial: wvdial -C wvdial.201212223712 --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.61 --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Sending: ATQ0 X3 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 ATQ0 X3 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATDT123456789 --> Waiting for carrier. ATDT123456789 CONNECT 48000 V44 --> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt. Segmentation fault The connection didn't work out because I'm not sure I can use my free account to connect. Anyway the modem seems to work. Unfortunately the server hanged seconds after vwdial exited. It's a remote server, I was connected to it using ssh, so I don't know exactly what happened. I suspect another kernel panic. bye maxx
