Re: Dennis, US Linux Mint 12 Lisa kernel 3.0.0-12-generic

yeah, I had it installed already. it doesn't work with any real
degree of consistency(maybe 1 in every 80 times). Even with the
carrier check disabled, in wvdial.conf, wvdial still checks for
carrier. I also had stupid mode on as well. Had a lot of resposes,
with repeating "No Carrier!!!", and "No Dialtone". I ended up
installing Ubuntu 12.04(precise) in place of mint. only change at all
is it now doesn't detect the modem at all. was thinking about moving
off of Ubuntu(I've had nothing but problems with it after v8.04's
support ended) and it's derivatives and just use regular Debian
instead. this Motorola SM56 data/fax modem has me pretty frustrated
at this point.
