Dear Wolfgang,

Can you save this file as b/test.sh replacing the old b/test.sh you
mailed me back ? Then from a root account:
# cd b
# sh test.sh
# echo $?
and you send me the screen's cut'n paste.
Thank you so much in advance.

With Jacques', Ludwig and my inputs, I am sure we'll find an acceptable
solution to your pppd DNS problem. The very condition for it is that
both your ISP and you negociate for the DNS setup. To troubleshoot what
is happening, you may eventually try using minicom Linux utility,
simulating each wvdial/pppd modem sent command. To know what wvdial/pppd
send to the modem, use Linux strace. If you do not know how to use it,

Warmest regards to you.

Dear Wolfgang,

If you kept it, I would need your b/test.sh. Would you be so kind as
to send it attached to a mail to all the destinees, not CC'ing
discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ? I fear that if you attach a file to a mail,
this will be rejected by this mail address.

Thank you in advance,
Warmest regards,
Philippe
