After compiling , installing and setting up dgcmodem driver in amd64 PC , I still cannot connect using my dialup connection . Presumably it's some kind of authentication error . Nonetheless , I've installed in the same host PC a ''Windows XP'' virtual machine (''Virtualbox'' 4.0), then installed the drivers, attached ''USB'' modem device and installed ''Windows'' drivers and everything works OOTB . So there's no problem with user + password nor anything alike . Q: - Anyone experiencing similar problems ? - Is there a solution or a way to troubleshoot the PPP connection ? Below I pasted logging information. Any help will be appreciated . =================================== Gnome-PPP log =================================== --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60 --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATM1L3DT<phone_number> --> Waiting for carrier.
