Christof,

scanModem reports that your modem should work with
agrsm-11c11040-20091225.deb that you tried to install

CPU=i686,  Ubuntu ,  ALSA_version=1.0.21
Linux version 2.6.32-31-generic (buildd@rothera) (gcc version 4.4.3
(Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) ) #61-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 8 18:24:35 UTC 2011
 scanModem update of:  2011_02_04
The modem symbolic link is /dev/modem -> ttySL0
Distrib_ID=Ubuntu
DistribCodeName=lucid
AptRepositoryStem=http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/

The dkms driver upgrade utilities are installed,

 There are no blacklisted modem drivers in /etc/modprobe* files

 Potentially useful modem drivers now loaded are:
       snd_hda_intel   slamr

>From output by scanModem, it *Your_system* thinks that
slamr/slmodemd+alsa support your modem, but you need 11c11040 modem
drivers.

You have
11c11040 (on HDA audio cards)   2.6.31  agrsm-11c11040_20091225_i386.deb

   All available at: http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/

Have you gotten the automation/testing package?

Additionally there are;
automation & testing                    agrsm-tools_0.0.1_all.deb

If you haven't get it and run the testing tools to see if the modem
drivers are loaded or not?

Also if you have not, please do the following which scanModem advises:

   For the 11c11040 chip with kernels 2.6.31 and later a change in a
modules loading settingmay be necessary.
   Within the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (or equivalent for
your Distro), change the phrase:
      options snd-hda-intel power_save=10
   to:
      options snd-hda-intel power_save=0
   or the agrsm drivers will not function. For Ubuntu related systems
this can be done with:
   $ sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

If you can also try to blacklist slamr module.

Marv,

will it be sufficient to remove sl-modem-src* or sl-modem-daemon to
take care of slamr kernel module from not loading?

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Antonio
