Install the sl-modem-source and sl-modem-daemon packages,
and modem setup will be automated upon boot.This includes creating the
/dev/slamr0 and
/dev/ttySL0  --> /dev/pts/N , the latter being the true modem port, N a number

You should set your country with:
$ sudo gedit   /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon
replacing the default USA.   Do
$ slmodemd --countrylist
to check the specification for INDONESIA

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/  has a package faxing.tar.gz
with examples.
