So,
I ran step by step like you wrote.
... my first step, before request some help was to install the deb
package with the deb installer tools ! (apt-get)
so, there are some differences on theses steps
The tool wvdialconf is not on my system, do I need it ? for run fax ?
so here is the screen copy I got :

Frederic,
I'm doubtful that either of your winmodems will support fax.
But if you want to merely do dialout, there easiest route is to
install the packages
11c1:048c and 11c1:048f 2.6.29
agrsm048pci-2.1.60_20100108_i386.deb l available at:
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/
Additionally there are;
automation & testing agrsm-tools_0.0.1_all.deb

Install the packages with:
