Marv,

You did look at which version he is using right?

--------------------------  System information
----------------------------
CPU=i686,  Ubuntu ,  ALSA_version=1.0.18
Linux version 2.6.28-19-generic (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.3.3
(Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #61-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 26 23:35:15 UTC 2010
 scanModem update of:  2010_05_29

Distrib_ID=Ubuntu
DistribCodeName=jaunty
AptRepositoryStem=http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/

He is using jaunty, so that is why I recommended that package. Did I
do something wrong?

Regards,

Antonio
