Ubuntu Lucid and martian_modem package

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

 Hi,

Previously, I had setup my GFs Moms computer with Hardy and built the
martian_modem code from source. This included both the martian_dev and
martian_modem bits and the modem worked just fine. However, I had to
tell her to not update the kernel, and when she did, she'd loose
internet until I could stop by to rebuild the martian_dev module. It
doesn't appear that Lucid has a martian_dev package.

What is the prefered way to get this modem to work under Lucid? Is
there an alternate package I should use? How do I add the connection
to NetworkManager?

I can build the martain_modem from source as before and use gnomeppp,
but I'd like to use NetworkManager if possible since apps query that
for connection state.

Any other tips, ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan
