In a hard disk I have Ubuntu 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-14 and there modem run well.
I installed the new release 9.04 in a new HD and before delete old I
tried to install modules for modem into new.
But I haven't chance. I installed:
libasound2-dev
sl-modem-source
sl-modem-daemon
but when I read lsmod there is only slamr module not ungrab-winmodem.
I tried:
ciornj@deskubu904:~$ sudo modprobe ungrab-winmodem debug=3
[sudo] password for ciornj:
FATAL: Error inserting ungrab_winmodem
(/lib/modules/2.6.28-18-generic/updates/dkms/ungrab-winmodem.ko):
Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
ciornj@deskubu904:~$ dmesg | grep ungrab-winmodem
ciornj@deskubu904:~$ dmesg | grep slamr
[ 14.767920] slamr: module license 'Smart Link Ltd.' taints kernel.
[ 14.776133] slamr: SmartLink AMRMO modem.
[ 14.776166] slamr: device 10b9:5459 is grabbed by another driver
Can anyone help me?
Or I must stay all time with old release.
Arturo
