re: wvdial " seems to only work after I run this command:
sudo slmodemd -c GREECE --alsa hw:0,6

This partial success is not at all using the agrmodem+agrserial pair,
but rather the snd-hda-intel (audio+modem) driver under direction of slmodemd
--------------------------
tra@geb:~$ sudo wvdial
[sudo] password for tra:
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Cannot get information for serial port.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDT9728520780
--> Waiting for carrier. (keeps repeating)
ATDT9728520780
--------------------
In your Init2 = string, try replacing +FCLASS=0 with +MS=34

If there is again a failure, modify the activation command to:
$ sudo slmodemd -c GREECE --alsa --debug=2 --log  hw:0,6
which will generate a logfile. Send us the logfile.
