Jin, tra@geb:~/SLMODEMD_gcc4.4_alsa1.0.21$ sudo slmodemd -c GREECE --alsa hw:0,6 SmartLink Soft Modem: version 2.9.11 Dec 3 2009 16:59:30 symbolic link `/dev/ttySL0' -> `/dev/pts/2' created. modem `hw:0,6' created. TTY is `/dev/pts/2' Use `/dev/ttySL0' as modem device, Ctrl+C for termination. ^Ctra@geb:~/SLMODEMD_gcc4.4_alsa1.0.21$ ls -l /dev/ttySL0 ls: cannot access /dev/ttySL0: No such file or directory You pressed CTRL + C which killed slmodemd and the /dev/ttySL0, leave it running in the background and open another tab/terminal and try to run $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf while you have the slmodemd command running ie. $ sudo slmodemd -c GREECE --alsa hw:0,6 Then after wvdialconf find /dev/ttySL0 as the modem port, edit /etc/wvdial.conf using something like $ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf and removing the ";" and adding your username, ISP phone number, password and a line Carrier Check = no, attempt to dialout and then let us know if you got through. If you got through but can't surf, look at the lines where DNS shows some numbers, use $ sudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf and add those numbers to that file with the word nameserver numbers-go-here-with-dots-like-they-appear Let us know how this goes.
