Frank: RE: note how the 2 codecs are detected Thanks for pointed out this case. Yes, SIL27 and SIL21 for the same: Primary device ID: 1106:3068 Subsystem PCI_id 1071:7321 Though rare, there are cases like this. Probably the modem assembler just changed/hacked the Subsystem firmware designation ffrom SIL21 -> SIL27 (or vice versa) to specify the desired Agere or Pctel software under Microsoft. Of course under Linux, there is no functionality difference The ALSA driver snd-via82xx-modem + smart helper slmodemd provides function regardless. If you find other cases not represented in scanModem, it would suffice to send just the dataset like: Primary device ID: 1106:3068 Subsystem PCI_id 1071:7321 Codec (like SIL24, BCM64, CXT23 etc) MarvS On Fri, Dec 25, 2009 at 5:00 PM, gpwmda <gpwmda@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > hi, > > for comparison purposes here is the modem data of 2 nicely working modems > with current slmodem.
