Larry, Thanks for ModemData.txt. You do have compiling resources ready. Minimal compiling resources appear complete: make utility - /usr/bin/make Compiler version 4.3 linuc_headers base folder /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/build Please delete the folder[$ rm -rf martian-full-20080625/] and all the files and save original martian-full-20080625.tar.gz[On some systems, make clean might not work correctly :( ], then do a re-extraction $ tar -zxvf martian-full-20080625.tar.gz $ make all $ sudo make install But also make sure you have linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev packages installed then run above commands. Then $ sudo modprobe martian_dev $ sudo martian_modem Open a separate terminal/tab and run $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf and hopefully it finds /dev/ttySM0 as the modem port. Let us know how this goes. Regards, Antonio <quote> For martian_modem, additional required packages are needed. The also required headers of package libc6 are commonly installed by default. Compiling hsfmodem drivers does require linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev packages, for kernels 2.6.24 and later versions. In not included on your install CD, search for them at http://packages.ubuntu.com </quote> On Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 3:44 PM, Larry Hager <larrymeditates@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I'm trying to begin the compiling process with $make clean but I get the message: "No rule to make target 'clean' Attached is my modem data file.
