Antonio,

scanModem is OK.  It is just that the combination of
   Primary device ID:  1002:437b
   Subsystem PCI_id  1179:ff00 hosting a 11c11040 chip has not been
encountered before.
Hence it is not output from the archives.

Hugo,
   Sadly support is lacking for 11c11040 modem chip for kernels since 2.6.27.
We have informed the LSI/Agere maintainer of this problem, but they
never report when they will provide and update.

Read InfoGeneral.txt about alternate modem hardware if you are fully
dependent upon the modem for Internet access.
