It looks like I got a bit farther. I tried this: > Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 X3 &C1 &D2 +MS=34 It sometimes got a little farther... like 1 in 4 or 5 attempts so I guessed at other numbers that would work and found 23 gives the best result (and didn't error as invalid Init2). I did try it with an without the Stupid Mode and Carrier Check on and off too without any further success. Here is my wvdial.conf configuration: [Dialer Defaults] Init1 = ATZ Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 X3 &C1 &D2 +MS=23 Modem Type = Analog Modem Baud = 460800 New PPPD = yes Modem = /dev/ttySL0 ISDN = 0 Phone = 9087514072 Password = password Username = freegeek # needed for /dev/pts/N ports #Carrier Check = no #Stupid Mode = 1 # End wvdial.conf Here are the results: default@default-desktop:~$ sudo wvdial --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60 --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 X3 &C1 &D2 +MS=23 ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 X3 &C1 &D2 +MS=23 OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATDT9087514072 --> Waiting for carrier.
