TImo,

There seems to be a functional hsdmodem package installed.
Try:
$ sudo wvdialconf
which should detect the modem.
If so edit in  your personal information with:
$ sudo gedit  /etc/wvdial.conf
removing the symbols ; < >
$ man wvdial.conf
will relate details.

Then you should  be able to dailout with:
$ sudo wvdial
