Jeff,

Your ModemData.txt appears to be incomplete, would you mind resending
after you run again scanModem?

For candidate card in slot 00:1f.6, firmware information and bootup
diagnostics are:
 PCI slot	PCI ID SubsystemID	Name
 ----------	---------	---------	--------------
 00:1f.6	8086:2486	134d:4c21	Modem: Intel Corporation 82801CA/CAM
AC'97 Modem Controller

 Modem interrupt assignment and sharing:
  5:       1348    XT-PIC-XT        Intel 82801CA-ICH3
 --- Bootup diagnostics for card in PCI slot 00:1f.6 ----
[    0.900938] PCI: 0000:00:1f.6 reg 10 io port: [d400, d4ff]
[    0.900948] PCI: 0000:00:1f.6 reg 14 io port: [dc00, dc7f]
[    3.111947] serial 0000:00:1f.6: PCI INT B -> Link[LNKB] -> GSI 5
(level, low) -> IRQ 5
[    3.111962] serial 0000:00:1f.6: PCI INT B disabled

 The PCI slot 00:1f.6 of the modem card may be disabled early in
 a bootup process, but then enabled later. If modem drivers load
 but the modem is not responsive, read DOCs/Bootup.txt about possible fixes.
 Send dmesg.txt along with ModemData.txt to discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
 if help is needed.

For candidate card in slot 03:00.1, firmware information and bootup
diagnostics are:

Well allright,

For the first one, you may Download ===> SLMODEMD_gcc4.2_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz

Predictive diagnostics for card in bus fake:
	Modem chipset  detected on
NAME="FakeName"
CLASS=FakeClass
PCIDEV=8086:2486
SUBSYS=134d:4c21
IRQ=fake
SOFT=8086:2486.MC97
CodecArchived=SIL21
IDENT=slmodemd
SLMODEMD_DEVICE=modem:1
Driver=snd-intel8x0m

 For candidate modem in:  fake
   FakeClass FakeName
      Primary device ID:  8086:2486
    Subsystem PCI_id  134d:4c21
    Softmodem codec or chipset from diagnostics:
                               from    Archives: SIL21

Support type needed or chipset:	slmodemd

 Pending fixes to gcc-4.3, temporarily use instead of SLMODEMD.gcc4.3.tar.gz, us
e
 	SLMODEMD_gcc4.2_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz

 An ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) modem driver: snd-intel8x0m
 provides Low Level support enabling contact with the modem hardware.
 For all BUT Conexant chip soft modems (using hsfmodem software)
 complementary High Level support is through a Smartlink utility: slmodemd

 Download from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/
 the package SLMODEMD_gcc4.2_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz having a compiled slmodemd. Unpac
k under Linux with:
 	$ tar zxf SLMODEMD_gcc4.2_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz
 and read instructions therein. But briefly, the modem is setup with command:
 	 slmodemd -c YOUR_COUNTRY --alsa modem:1
 reporting dynamic creation of ports:
	/dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N   , with N some number
 Read DOCs/Smartlink.txt and Modem/DOCs/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidan
ce.

For the other one, if you so need to

Download ===> martian-full-20080625.tar.gz

Predictive diagnostics for card in bus fake:
	Modem chipset  detected on
NAME="FakeName"
CLASS=FakeClass
PCIDEV=115d:0103
SUBSYS=115d:1181
IRQ=fake
IDENT=Agere.DSP

 For candidate modem in:  fake
   FakeClass FakeName
      Primary device ID:  115d:0103
 Support type needed or chipset:	Agere.DSP

----------------end Softmodem section --------------

 The modem has a Lucent/Agere/LSI Mars or Apollo DSP (digital signal processing)
 chipset.
Support packages for 2.6.n kernels are at:
 http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/
Always use the most update for kernels after 2.6.20, currently martian-full-2008
0625.tar.gz
For kernels 2.6.20 and less, usr martian-full-20080407.tar.gz.

 See DOCs/AgereDSP.txt for Details.

Regards,

Antonio
