Marv, I downloaded and compiled kernel 2.6.27.8, but it does not boot :( It gives me error message: mount: error mounting /dev/root on /sysroot as ext4: No such device I do not know how to overcome it as, the machine I use ext4 filesystem. I booted to a newer Fedora kernel, only to find out later that it would oops also: http://www.kerneloops.org/submitresult.php?number=138190 It died with usb_serial problem. I used an external serial/usb modem to connect to internet with Fedora because it is x86_64. I will await a newer kernel or a suggestion(s) to ge the ext4 issue with the compiled kernel to see if it remedies the issue. Otherwise I'll pleasantly surf with Slax since it gets the job done :) Regards, Antonio On 12/13/08, Marvin Stodolsky <marvin.stodolsky@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Antonio > > Quite likely you could add the Slax kernel+modules set to the Fedora > installation > > MarvS > > On Sat, Dec 13, 2008 at 11:40 AM, Antonio Olivares > <olivares14031@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: >> Dear all, >> >> I am running Slax to access the smartlink modem >> >> Have a slax module ready >> >> http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=1037 >> >> Have fedora 10 x86_64 installed, but modem not available unless I boot >> a 32 bit kernel, but I am having troubles with Fedora freezing so Slax >> is my lifesaver. >> >> Just FYI. >> >> Regards, >> >> Antonio >> >
