This may be related to a failure of slmodemd to compile with thegcc-4.3 compiler, under Ubuntu which I previously reported. Theslmodemd in the SLMODEMD.GCC4.3/ packagge which you are using wasprovided by Antonio, but compiled on a Fedora System. Separately I will send you a slmodemd compiled with Ubuntu Intrepidresources, except using the former gcc-4.2 compiler. After saving to Ubuntu please rename you current slmodemd, whichshould be at /usr/sbin/slmodemd$ sudo mv /usr/sbin/slmodemd /usr/sbin/slmodemd.4.3Unpack the new slmodemd.gz$ gunzip slmodemd.gz$ sudo cp slmodemd /usr/sbin/slmodemdMake executable$ sudo chmod +x /usr/sbin/slmodemd Then run the modem tests as before and report back.
