MarvS,
as you have told me, at first i downloaded
"agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz"
then i used the instruction that you have written, in your last email.
after that i read How to file in the folder of uncompresed
"agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz"
and then i tried to install "agrsm-20080626.tar.gz" with the
instruction of How to
when i used command " sudo make install", terminal showed this:

"Installing Agere Softmodem driver version 2.1.80-Red Flag NE 5.0
some files needed for installation are missing"

what should i do?
thanks for your concern and your answers.
