Re: Installing Smartlink

Chris,

First, in order to install the package you must have gcc, kernel-headers, &/maybe kernel-devel packages installed:

 linux-headers-2.6.22.13-0.1.gcc3.4.x86.i686 resources needed for compiling are not manifestly ready!

 If compiling is necessary packages must be installed, providing:
	 kernel-source-2.6.22.13-0.1.gcc3.4.x86.i686

When you try to install the packages after you extract them with

$ tar -zxvf slmodem-2.9.11-20080126.tar.gz
$ make KERNEL_DIR=/lib/modules/linux-2.6.22.13-0.1.gcc3.4.x86.i686/build
$ su -
password:
or
$ sudo make install

should install the slamr.ko kernel modules to the appropriate place.

Report back presently if you have done something similar to the above, but packages are not installing. The other package that you mention is for Ubuntu(slamr-2.6.22-14-generic), if you had Ubuntu you would not be having such troubles since the packages are available and ready to be installed.

HTH,

Antonio
