CPU=i686,
Linux version 2.6.24-19-generic (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.2.3
(Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:43:41 UTC 2008
 scanModem update of:  2008_08_26

 There are no blacklisted modem drivers in /etc/modprobe* files
USB modems not recognized

For candidate card in slot 04:05.0, firmware information and bootup
diagnostics are:
 PCI slot	PCI ID SubsystemID	Name
 ----------	---------	---------	--------------
 04:05.0	1543:3052	1543:3000	Modem: SILICON Laboratories Intel 537 [Winmodem]

At http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/Ubuntu/   get the
slamr-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz

Under Linux unpack with:
$ tar zxf slamr*.tar.gz
Move in
$ cd slamr-2.6.24-19-generic
Browse around and run:
$ sudo  ./setup  2>&1 | tee  adrian.txt
and send me the adrian.txt. We don't have a success yet with the
1543:3052 chipset yet. So send me the adrian.txt, and I'll instruct
what to do next.

the " 2>&1 | tee adrian.txt" just supports the writing of results to
adrian.txt
