Martian is not the right software package.

get the agrsm-HDA-20080721.tar.bz2 and the Howto file.

You only need the agrmodem and agrserial drivers,
The snd-hda-intel is not needed for your 1c1:048c chipset modem.
Do write back if further help is needed.
