Re: my modem is hsf or hcf ?
Neither. It has a Smartlink Chipset

0703 Modem: Smart Link Ltd. Unknown device 2800
      Primary device ID:  2000:2800
 Support type needed or chipset:	slamr

For 2.6.20-2925.9.fc7xen compiling drivers is necessary. To complete
compiling support
install the package  kernel-devel-2.6.20-2925.9.fc7xenn

Then get current driver packages from
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/  ,
 the ungrab-winmodem-20070505.tar.gz and  slmodem-2.9.11-20080817.tar.gz

Unpack them with
$   tar zxf un*.tar.gz
$   tar zxf  slm*.tar.gz

Move in with:
$ cd ungrab-winmodem-20070505
and do:
$ make clean
$ make
$ su root
# make install

Similarly in the slmodem-2.9.11-20080817/  folder
$ make clean
$ make
$ su root
# make install

Read the Smartlink.txt about automating port creation and driver loading,
upon reboots
