If you do set them and the problem persists, it is occasionally encountered with this 11c1:0620 modem. Two cures that sometimes work are written in the agrsm_howto.txt, with thanks to Hugo: shutting down audio support OR add "pci=noacpi" to you bootup KERNEL line in the /boot/grub/menu.lst. THe later is most simple done by duplicating the block like: title Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel 2.6.26-2-generic root (hd0,2) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-generic root=UUID=51550c2a-07fc-40bc-8cbf-882e7eaaf3d1 ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-2-generic quiet with an edit to: title Ubuntu 8.04.1, noacpi with kernel 2.6.26-2-generic root (hd0,2) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-generic root=UUID=51550c2a-07fc-40bc-8cbf-882e7eaaf3d1 ro quiet splash pci=noacpi initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-2-generic quiet Do this with: $ sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst The kernel lines should NOT be folded as they may appear in this email MarvS MarvS On Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 6:38 PM, Rocky Rock <xubuntu@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi marv, > i removed the UPS, printer and i ran sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf and i got what are in the attachment. > I think the problem of freezing was from the UPS cuz it's connected throw the COM port. > But what about the output that i got!
