Re: Modem dials, but cannot connect

Thank you for the reply.

The "Warning: Could not modify /etc/ppp/pap-secrets: Permission denied" has
gone away.

(I notice that the line added to the pap-secrets files is different from
yours
my line only reads (both pap and chap-secrets)
"login01" * "password"
login 01     *      password

as opposed to: MyLoginName\@worldnet\.att\.net   *       MyPassword
(do I need the extra stuff)

However, same results.  Modem dials, hangs up and dials again.

See new message from terminal:
