Hi Menedas, ignore my last message about the wvdial.conf file. I only saw this after I'd sent it. The kernel OOPS you're getting would take some more work to resolve, and I don't think this would be resolvable before you're going to return your laptop... I had quite a fight trying to get rid of it on my system, and it involved quite a few builds from source. (the agrsm driver, that is. ALSA driver is okay) Though if you're extremely brave, what I did was extract the contents of this RPM: http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/agrsm-2.1.80-2mdv2009.0.src.rpm which contains an earlier source for the driver, and a variety of patches. From there on, I tried to build the module with a minimum of the patches applied.(particularly the hda patches triggered the OOPs on my system.) In your case, I suspect you'd need at least the 'irq-flags' patch and the 'update-for-serial-changes' patch. Bjorn. --- menedas <menedas@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > Menedas wrote: > > > But doesn't work.
