If you have time, please try replacing the snd-hda-intel.ko in /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver/pci/hda/ with the one we patched. Remember to reboot after this to load the new module!) If you can then modprobe the agrmodem module successfully (may need --force-modversion) then it means that's the path we needed.
