Erica,

We lack prior info on:
---------------------------
NAME="Communication controller: 3Com Corporation Device 6565 "
CLASS=0780
PCIDEV=10b7:6565
SUBSYS=10b7:656c
IRQ=10
--------------------------
but possible it is a new Controller chip set. Please try:
$ su root
# wvdialconf   wvtest
to see if it is detected.

With respect to the martian package, be use you are using the newest
martian-full-20080625.tar.gz  from
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/ ,
 as older packages may not be 2.6.25 proficient. See my compile below
on a 2.6.26 system.
