I downloaded the scanModem tool and follow the instructions. It
propesed to dl and install the file:
hsfmodem-7.68.00.07full_k2.6.24_16_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip
I did and tried to install but got the message that there was a
dependency not satified; the alsa-driver-linuxant had to be installed.
Downloaded this driver which in his turn asked for a lib... package I
think. Since I`m trying to make my mom old pentium revive with only a
modem link to the internet I was wondering if it is at all possible. I
am using XP to d/l the needed deb´s.
Is there anybody who know´s where to get all the needed files?
any help is much apreaciated.

For owners of a Dell PCs with Conexant HSF modems, a driver source package with full speed enabled is available, but requires driver compiling. Read DOCs/Conexant.txt

When compiling ALSA drivers, the utility "patch" will also be needed.
If a driver compilation fails, with message including some lack of some FileName.h (stdio.h for example), then
