Under your Fedora release 8 (Werewolf) Linux version 2.6.25.4-10.fc8
your modem is most likely a Conexant type hosted by:
CLASS="Class 0403: 8086:284b"
NAME="Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H "
SUBSYS=104d:902d
PCIDEV=8086:284b

 Start at  http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads-fc9-x86.php
and download 	hsfmodem-7.68.00.10full_k2.6.25.4_10.fc8-1fdr.i686.rpm.zip
Under Linux
$ unzip hsf*.zip
Start the install with of the rpm with an appropiate Fedora tool or simply
$ su root
# rpm -i hsf*.rpm

Diagnostics will be run & inform if the software is correct.
Report back presently to enrich our archives.
