Folder http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/ Contains files originating at Red FLag Linux: http://www.redflag-linux.com/ It is Fedora based distribution. The 14 MB kernel-2.6.21.0-22.i686.rpm installs a Kernel + modules set, which could be used for alternative booting on any RPM using distro. | |-- boot | |-- System.map-2.6.21.0-22 | |-- config-2.6.21.0-22 | `-- vmlinuz-2.6.21.0-22 | `-- lib `-- modules `--2.6.21.0-22 etcetera This package should be installed FIRST, then a reboot and sanity tests done under the new kernel 2.6.21.0-22 Agere-driver-1.0-10dd.i386.rpm - contains a compiled agrmodem + agrserial drivers with setup scripts, which installs per figure below, with: # rpm -Uvh agere-driver-1.0-10dd.i386.rpm --force --nodeps These drivers will ONLY work with this particular boot kernel!!! There is a report that these two installations do suffice to get modem support. Your success/failure reports would be appreciated During the weekend I will convert kernel-2.6.21.0-22.i686.rpm to a kernel-2.6.21.0-22.i686.deb so similar trials can be done on Debian/Ubuntu type systems.
