Zoltan, There are a few different ESS chipsets, but only Linux support for one. Browse http://linmodems.technion.ac.il and download scanModem.gz . Within a Linux partition gunzip scanModem.gz To make it executable: chmod +x scanModem Run diagnositics with: ./scanModemTHe output ModemData.txt will have information cogent to your ESS chipset.
