Beny, For Debian,1) install the package sl-modem-daemonThis will replace all the scripts Antonio recommended for the RPM host 2) gedit /etc/defaults/sl-modem-daemonto set the default Country to BRAZIL 3) The sl-modem-daemon packages installs a version 2.9.9e slmodemd,which you need to replace. Just rerun the# make installof the slmodem package, which will install a version 2.9.11 slmodemd Then upon bootup, there will be automatically done:# modprobe ungrab-winmodem# modprobe slamr# slmodemd -c BRAZIL /dev/slamr0with creation of /dev/ttySL0 -> /dev/pts/Nand you will be ready to# wvdial Try commenting out theStupid Modem = 1for better performance if it is not essential.
