Artur,

From the driver file name which you quote, I believe that you have taken it from the Linuxant site.

However on that site I note:

TAR x86_64 hsfmodem-7.68.00.07x86_64full.tar.gz
(for other 64-bit systems with AMD64/EM64T extensions)

So, just out of curiosity, does your processor have the EM64T extension?
I did see
http://www.nabble.com/How-can-I-know-whether-is-Intel-Core-2-CPU-with-EM64T-extension--cat--proc-cpuinfo-don't-show-this-td14477283.html

but then I do not understand why Linuxant says ONLY, since AMD64 is a 64 bits processor and the page quoted above says that the "extension" just means having 64 bits architecture.

Artur,

Is the driver package from Dell or Linuxant??
If from Dell, uninstall and try the Linuxant package.

Dear, Marvin,
I got a new computer with AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core. I installed a
 KUBUNTU 7.10 for 64-bit PC. I already sent you a modemdata.txt but I
couldn't install it. It said that my the architecture of the driver is
wrong. I tried to install the hsfmodem-7.68.00.07x86_64full.tar driver
and my kppp says that modem is busy and wvdial.conf doesn't define
modem. Would you help me, please? I'm sending the new modemdata.txt
 and the dmesg.txt

 best regards,
 artur
