Dear all, I cannot get slmodemd to work on kernel 2.6.24 and I try to use wvdial to troubleshoot, but I get root@slax:~# /usr/sbin/slmodemd -c USA /dev/slamr0 & SmartLink Soft Modem: version 2.9.11 Mar 4 2008 00:54:22 symbolic link `/dev/ttySL0' -> `/dev/pts/3' created. modem `slamr0' created. TTY is `/dev/pts/3' Use `/dev/ttySL0' as modem device, Ctrl+C for termination. [1] 14000 root@slax:~# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf wvdialconf: error while loading shared libraries: libwvstreams.so.4.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory root@slax:~# I have asked on Slax forum for help as to how to proceed. http://www.slax.org/forum.php?action=view&parentID=3052&anchorid=3052#postid3052 I have covered my bases, as prerequistes are there: I downloaded wvdial/wvstreams from here http://alumnit.ca/wiki/index.php?page=DownloadReleases downloaded and executed scanModem, got the correct drivers and compiled successfully. but this: error while loading shared libraries: libwvstreams.so.4.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory kills all the work done. I have googled, but cannot find an answer to this problem . I have not gotten into 2.6.24 kernel on Fedora to test it there, but I had a hard time getting it to work with 2.6.23.15 kernel. Thanks in advance, Antonio
