John,
softmodem chip 0x11c11040 is now in the support list of package
suse-10-2a.tar.gz at
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/sv92/

However this package is not compiling under current kernels, and one
of the kernel-headers it needs when compiled under 2.6.18 kernels is
yet to be found among public resources.

Try and use it if you are proficient in compiling. When you report
back, please include the complete ModemData.txt so we know the details
of your system. The agrsm-20080203.tar.gz has older code from
AgereSystems( now LSI) not including support for 0x11c11040. But
there is therein a HowTo on usage of the agrmodem + agreserial driver
pair.
