Ravi in India,

For Class 0780: 11c1:048c Communication controller: Agere Systems V.92
56K WinModem
     Primary PCI_id 11c1:048c
Support type needed or chipset: Agere.SV2P

From
 http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/ltmodem/sv92/
get the agrsm-20070804.tar.gz

Before using it under Linux version 2.6.18-4-686 (Debian)
packages must be installed, providing:
        linux-headers-2.6.18-4
        linux-headers-2.6.18-4-686
        kernel-kbuild-2.6-18
After download they can be coinstalled with:
# dpkg -i *.deb

This is one of the more difficult modems. There is a following HowTo
for trouble shooting, provided by Hugo.
