get the package SLMODEMD.gcc4.1.tar.gz from:
       http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/

from
00-06: Si3054 Modem : Si3054 Modem : playback 1 :
the setup command will be
$ sudo slmodemd -c USA --alsa hw:0,6
for testing.  But check with your local Linux group
as to what your Moldova modem code is.
THen report back.
