 I'll do the fix this evening and send it to you for testing
Read the SmartLink.txt  you will using the
ungrab-winmodem  +  slamr driver combination

Download the slamr-2.6.20-15-generic.tar.gz from
http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/smartlink/Ubuntu/
and start reading.  Only the slamr.ko will have to be replaced.
