Charlotte, You need to use sudo $ sudo slmodemd -c UK --alsa modem:1 Also use $ sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-modem to remove the # in front of # snd_atiixp_modem # snd_via82xx_modem as these drivers are for other hardware. I attempted to follow the instructions and downloaded the slmodemd thing but when I typed in "slmodemd --alsa -c UK modem:1" like it said I should do, I ended up getting the following error message: > error: alsa setup: cannot open playback device 'modem:1' : Device or resource busy. > error: cannot setup device 'modem:1' > > I'm fairly new to all this so if you could help that would be great ^_^ > > Charlotte > _________________________________________________________________ > Telly addicts unite! > http://www.searchgamesbox.com/tvtown.shtml
