RE: Codec: Motorola Si3054Address: 1Vendor Id: 0x10573055----------should in principle be supported by the combination of snd-hda-intel,it's dependent drivers and slmodemd.
There are a few issues however:1) However all the versions of slmodem source code used to compileslmodemd have a component compiled by the original Smartink owner, with a 32 bit compiler. Hence the modem will not work in the full 64bit mode.
2) The sl-modem-daemon_2.9.9d+e-pre2-10_amd64.debpackage installed a version 2.9.9d slmodmed code, while the updates inthe slmodemd of SLMODEMD.gcc4.1.tar.gz are necessary under currentkernels. On my system the check with:# slmodemd --versionSmartLink Soft Modem: version 2.9.11 Aug 6 2007 22:02:27------------------shows the needed 2.9.11 is installed. If yours shows 2.9.9 , youwant to copy the slmodemd in the SLMODEMD package to/usr/sbin/slmodemd
3) During the testing phase, its best to turn on the sl-modem-daemonactions from within /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon, as it is moreinformative to modem activation manually.
Do these changes and reboot into 32 bit emulation mode, for the modemtesting. The manual modem setup command is:$ sudo slmodemd -c SWITZERLAND --alsa hw:0,6For your hardware, this is the only useful role of thesl-modem-daemon package.
Retest a dialout both with and without STUPID mode, and report back.
I'm just returned to the USA from 2 weeks of travel, and will be ableto help more over the weekend.
