I have same problem with you. At that time I could dial up to connect internet with slmodemd in Ubuntu 7.04 but days later I can't connected. After updating with Ubuntu 7.10 I do the same and just once time I could connect. The log is same with yours,i.e. repetiting: <###.######> main: dev write = 0 <###.######> main: alsa xrun: try to recover... <###.######> main: alsa xrun: recovered. <###.######> main: dev read = 0 So I tried another distro (mandriva 2008) and do the same for activating internal modem driver and using kppp to dial up. The result is 99% success to connect while in ubuntu 95% failed to connect. So I prefer try to use Mandriva 2008, in case there is poor connection line. -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Menk GTZ ET [mailto:alexander.menk@xxxxxx] Sent: Friday, November 23, 2007 2:50 PM Remark.
