Generoso, you did not install the kernel-devel package. You need this to succeed in compiling. Support for Fedora 6 is almost over. They will officially end support Dec. 7, 2007. It might be best to get Fedora 7 or Fedora 8. That decision is up to you. However, if you would like to keep Fedora 6, you need to get kernel-devel package from http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/3416469/com/kernel-devel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i686.rpm.html or another place convenient for you. Install it with # rpm -ivh kernel-devel* then rerun install procedure first run $ make clean $ make KERNEL_DIR=/lib/modules/2.2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build $ make $ su - Password: # make install cd ungrab-winmodem-directory/ # make clean # make # make install In case you get stuck carefully reread the following how to http://www20.brinkster.com/olivares/slmodemd-setup-1.html Regards, Antonio --- "generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx" <generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > I thank you for the explanations, but I don't > succeed in installing > the drivers. > I have downloaded the packages "ungrub-winmodem- > 20070505. tar.gz" and > "slmodem-2.9.11 20070813.tar.gz" at http: > //linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink /. > > I have decompressed > these packages but I don't succeed in compiling > them. > > When I try to > compile ungrub-winmodem with the command make I get > the following > error: > [root@localhost ungrab-winmodem-20070505] #make > make > modules > - C / lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build > SUBDIRS=/home/generoso/Desktop/Generoso/ungrab-winmodem-20070505 > > make: * * * / lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build: > No such file or > directory.
