I thank you for the explanations, but I don't succeed in installing the drivers. I have downloaded the packages "ungrub-winmodem- 20070505. tar.gz" and "slmodem-2.9.11 20070813.tar.gz" at http: //linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink /. I have decompressed these packages but I don't succeed in compiling them. When I try to compile ungrub-winmodem with the command make I get the following error: [root@localhost ungrab-winmodem-20070505] #make make modules - C / lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build SUBDIRS=/home/generoso/Desktop/Generoso/ungrab-winmodem-20070505 make: * * * / lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build: No such file or directory. Stop. When I try to compile slmodem with the command make I get the following error: [root@localhost slmodem-2.9.11- 20070813]# make make -C modem all make[1]: Entering directory `/home/generoso/Desktop/Generoso/slmodem-2.9.11-20070813/modem' rebuild profile... gcc -Wall -g -O -I. -DCONFIG_DEBUG_MODEM -o modem_main.o - c modem_main.c make[1]: gcc: Command not found make[1]: *** [modem_main. o] Error 127 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/generoso/Desktop/Generoso/slmodem-2.9.11-20070813/modem' make: *** [modem] Error 2 If I try to use the command modprobe as written in smartlink.txt, I have the following error: [root@localhost media]# modprobe ungrub-winmodem FATAL: Module ungrub_winmodem not found Can you help me to understand what I have to do? thanks in advance ---- Messaggio originale---- Da: marvin.stodolsky@xxxxxxxxx Data: 15-nov- 2007 14.23 A: "generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx"<generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Ogg: Re: Generoso, Italy, Fedora Core relase 6 (Zod) Kernel 2.6.18-1.27 98.fc6 Antonio Please help with this case. Generoso81, For your SYstem: CPU=x86_64, Fedora Core release 6 (Zod) Kernel Linux version 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 The software will only work when you boot in 32 bit mode, because it has a pre-compiled 32 bit component. Class 0703: 1057:3052 Modem: Motorola Unknown device 3052 Primary PCI_id 1057:3052 Support type needed or chipset: slamr 1057:3052 has a Motorola chipset, poorly supported by Motorola itself However Zello discovered that drivers written to support Smartlink modems do support the 1057:3052 chipset!! The modem is supported by the Smartlink slamr driver plus the slmodemd helper utility. Read the Smartlink.txt and Modem/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance. For 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 compiling drivers is necessary. As of October 2007 the current packages at http://linmodems. technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ are the ungrab-winmodem-20070505. tar.gz and slmodem-2.9.11-20070813.tar.gz Read the Smartlink, txt Compile and install the packages from both packages MarvS On Nov 15, 2007 7:03 AM, generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx <generoso81@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I am looking for some dirvers for my modem.
